09/13/2006 | KQ6EE kq6ee was at the same QTH all the time: San Gabriel Peak above Pasadena, California. The reason is: take a very easy route to get there; is not that hard. And I were above almost everyone in LA Basin. I was above the smog and it was a beautiful blue sky. I alway do QRP. There was no exception last weekend. I only operated on Sunday because of the school work. It was pretty quiet compared to other contest but I worked with couple hams on all 5 bands (6m, 2m, 220, 440, and 1.2 Ghz). I joined the contest from about 8am to 3:30 pm. I still don't have a digital camera to share the excited moment at the mountain top. May be at January 2007 VHF Sweepstake, hike to the mountain top, camp overnight at the snow cap mountain and call CQ contest, CQ contest. That will be fun. 73 -- KQ6EE
