I operated from my little cabin on a lake in Maine. (FN54) Although the weather was great (except for the two hour severe thunderstorms Saturday evening!) the conditions were quite lackluster. After doing a modest job last September I had high hopes for this yearespecially since I was adding several bands. Unfortunately, there wasnt much activity from Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning. I stayed up most of the night hoping for a repeat of last years aurorabut it wasnt to be! I finally pulled the plug 1300Z Sunday morning. Then, just my luck, I heard conditions improved greatly Sunday afternoon after I started back to my QTH in NJ! Ran 6/2/222/432/1296although at some time after checking the SWR on all antennas before pushing up the masts, one lead of the balun on the 432 yagi broke off. No wonder I made no 432 contacts! It didnt take long for the thoughts of grumbling to quickly turn to thoughts of tweaks and fixes for next year -- WA2BTR
