2006 ARRL September VHF Contest

09/22/2006 | K2KIB Once again, I operated from High Point State Park in NJ.
Conditions seemed flat and activity a bit low but the contest was enjoyable and memorable. I finally added 5.7 GHz. Thanks to the group at W2SZ I was able to make several firsts. My first contact on that band,a new state and grid and a 10 band clean sweep.

On Saturday I had a visit by the K2MET/R group. Lost some easy points because I confused rules with the 10 GHz contest. Thought
the station had to be at least 1 Km away to be valid. I could easily
have worked them while they were parked alongside me. Sorry guys.

Had to quit 5 hours before the end of the contest so I probably
lost a bunch of points. But considering the conditions,I believe
I made a good showing. Cannot wait to see the results. -- K2KIB
