2006 ARRL September VHF Contest

12/31/2006 | N0UY I wish the ARRL would change the scoring system in all the VHF contests to reflect the distance between the grid square centers much like is done is the Stew Perry 160 meter contest. You receive 1 point for the contact and 1 additional point for every 500 KM between grid squares. I think for VHF 200 KM would be more appropriate. What this would do is even out the population differences between participants and acually encourage contest stations to look for contacts in thos less populated grids. Living in the boonies like me it would give me credit for all the extra effort required in setting up a contest station. You see in Northern Minnesota all contacts are long distance with the exception of very few. Look what it would do for the rovers!

tnx Ray -- N0UY
