11/09/2006 | K2NA First time after a long time off. Tested the theory that a simple 40/20 dipole works for SS. QRN was very low in my Colorado neighborhood - antenna could "see" the Continental Divide to the west and Great Plains to the east. Only sections missed - NE & NL. Heard 'em both! Very impressed with the quality of operators. Computer made it easier to focus on copy (except for an occasional rf induced lockup). Nice to hear so many familiar calls. Lary -- K2NA
