11/29/2006 | WA7PRC My first SS in many years turned out to be by accident, after recently putting up the first skyhook at the new (10 years ago) QTH. The antenna is a 75m dipole but the rig didn't seem to mind it on 40, 20 and 15m as well. I was surprised at how well it worked on those other bands -- in only a few hours, I had 123 QSOs (50 sections) from each corner of North America and every QTH in between!

I also got to test my newest toys, a Heil Proset Plus headset & footswitch. It's nice to free-up the hand that otherwise would've had to hold the doggone microphone.

While I could've cranked-up my logging software, I opted to use a spreadsheet. With formatting and protection set, it worked pretty-well. With autocomplete enabled, it even did partial dupe-checking! I then saved a blank copy as a template, for the next SS. Groovy, huh? ;-)
