12/11/2006 | KF5KWO, KF5KWO/M Nice band opening just prior to contest beginning - worked MN, KS, and MO while mobile in San Antonio, TX, with 25w; the MO stations were running 15w! During the contest, I continued my "piercing" of the Midwest, working many others. Never seemed to make it to the East or West Coasts very well - I only managed OR (1) and CA (1). Late opening into NH and CT late on Sunday though. As for DX, Aruba and Netherlands Antilles made their usual appearances in the log (me mobile again), but so did 2 New Zealand stations (many thanks for digging out my mobile signal)! Haven't totaled my score yet, but this being my 1st ARRL 10m contest, I think I did pretty well for casual operating. See you next time!
