12/09/2006 | WD5AGO Another, after 25 years, fun contest. We just operated 13cm again this time. Wanted to give the small dish another try, WITH improvements! Same SS 200w amp at the dish, but new feed horn after 6 months of design work. Dish is up to 64% eff. up 7% from last year. Even a lower noise, designed to be cooled, 4 stage LNA (45 dBg @ 0.4 dB n/f) realy just two two-stage in series. The dish was also expanded to 2.7m (9'). Echos are 100% of the time during complete monthly moon cycle with about 0.25 dB of moon noise. We completed 16 Q and 13 multi. ,heard 20 during the one weekend microwave contest. -- WD5AGO
