2007 ARRL Straight Key Night

Operated the 2007 SKN event with two keys; a Speed-X straight key (circa 1970, my novice key) and a Vibroplex Original bug (circa 1943, restored e-bay key).
SKCC member #2465, ARRL A-1 Op, long-time SKN participant.
Made five QSOs, but all were quality rag chews:
Bill, W0EGJ, in Des Moines, IA using a J-38 key
Bob, N4BM, in Wichita, KS, using a Nye key
Bill, WB8SJE, in Perrysburg, OH, using a J-38 key (Best Fist)
Bill, K4IBZ, operating from work in Ft Walton Beach, FL, using a portible tripod-mounted mobile antenna and a J-37 key (Most Interesting QSO)
Rick, KD6DKC, in Merced, CA, using a German AF T-2 surplus key
I made all of my QSOs on 40 meters, where I found lots of activity during the entire event.
The level of and quality of participation in the SKN operating event justifies it to be held twice yearly. I suggest that the ARRL consider sponsoring a second, annual SKN operating event (a possible date might be the weekend near the 4th of July). -- N6KZ
