2007 ARRL Straight Key Night

01/02/2007 | AF4O Its now a tradition for me to work SKN to start the year off right. In my 29 years of hamming, Ive worked many modes from SSB to High Speed Meteor Scatter but the plan ole CW has a charm that cannot be beat.

Ive also joined the Straight Key Century Club (SKCC) to keep the fun going all year. What a great group. Check it out. It will keep you sharp for SKN next year.

This year I was running a WWII Navy Flameproof key. Its really a smooth straight key. Had to take it apart and clean the contacts but all is good with it now. Also ran my TS-830s at about 20watts. Sold my original 830 from my early days in the 80s and had to
have another.

Long Live CW and Long Live the brotherhood of Ham Radio ! What a great diverse hobby !

73,
Chuck
