01/03/2007 | AF2Z Looks like I'm just one of a number of prodigal hams returning to a great hobby after many years of absence. This was my first SKN ever! I didn't get a chance to work a whole lot of stations due to QRM (from holiday guests), but at least I can say I was part of SKN 2007.

My rig is a new TenTec Argonaut-V running 20 watts to a wire. My straight key, a German Junker.

It was great to open the filters to max (3khz), tune up and down the band and hear all those hand-generated CW signals pouring in. What a rich sound that is! There's nothing like it on the radio.

Thanks to ARRL for hosting this fine event, and to SKCC and the other dedicated CW organizations for showing up in force.
