01/04/2007 | KI4SLY/7 This was my first ever SKN. What a blast! I activated KI4SLY, the Straight Key Century Clubs call, from my home in Glendale, AZ. Here is the short and long of my contacts; the shortest distance was less than a mile to Eric WB6TIX in Peoria, AZ and the longest distance was to Kevin K4VD in Shawsville, Virginia. Thanks to all the operators that made an effort to contact the SKCC club call.

Propagation could have been better, but 80 meters was a workhorse on Sunday evening. I can hardly believe all the activity in the tiny 65 Khz CW portion of 80 meters. The band was very unpredictable on 20 meters during the day Monday and I managed one QSO on 30 meters.

The most difficult part of SKN was remembering to send the club call and not my own.
