01/04/2007 | W1FWB Again I took part in SKN and enjoyed it very much. I have worked SKN for about 10 years now, but never put in my "Soapbox" comments.
It's good to hear all the operators who drag out their keys once a year and connect with the origins of Amateur Radio. And this year, there was the added pleasure of hearing so many opeators from the new SKCC on the air. Good to see them out there.
I would guess that this year there was a much greater number of operators working SKN than there has been in quite a while. It seemed that way to me, and that would please my dad, the original W1FWB, who pounded brass as a telegraph operator and ham for over 75 years. It makes me proud to carry on his hobby and his call as well.
