01/06/2007 | WA0VQY I had a great time once again working SKN. On 80 and 40 meters where I hung out there were many fine operators sending dits and dahs the old-fashioned way.

I did note a few operators who seemed to be intent on merely seeing how many stations they could work as opposed to practicing the fine art of good conversation. My understanding is this event is not a contest. Instead, ragchewing is encouraged. To each his own, but for me, the fun qsos are those where I get to learn a little bit about the other fellow.

My trusty speed-x straight key and I look forward to next year's event. It's a fun way to greet the new year. Rob -- WA0VQY
