01/07/2007 | K2JX For SKN 2007 I used my 1975 vintage station, EF Johnson Viking Adventurer tx 50w rock bound on 3.568 & 7.040kcs. The receiver a WW-2 Signal Corps BC-348Q and for the antenna just a 60' end fed wire up 25'. I used my trusty WW-2 J-38 straight key and vintage gear for 12 hours. Oh my aching right arm ! There were so many great fists I would have a hard time voting for the best one.

SKN brings us back to basics with rag chew QSO's, Dow key relays and and hollow state gear. This year I think many more stations were using vintage gear than last. The highlight of the night was working A.R.R.L. staffer Joel,W1ZR another Boat Anchor enthusiast. SKN night is my one of my favorite operating events.
Biggest comment heard, "I remember those" had one back in 19xx!
