2007 ARRL Straight Key Night
have never participated in a SKN. I knew that I did not know where my Navy J38
Key was at home. So frantically I emailed Marshall Emm to send me an inexpensive
key and I chose the K4 and base to go with it.
Now the problem was....... Marshall was snowed in... in Colorado but was hoping
to get the package shipped to me a week before Jan. 1. When we flew home on the
Dec. 30th Saturday I left our baggage and YL at the airport and caught a Taxi
home and rushed to the PO. The Post office would close at 12:30 and if I did not
get the key and base there would be no way I could be a part of SKN. I made it
and got the package. Drove back to the airport and picked up the YL and baggage.
Now this was all my YL's idea so I could participate in SKN. She has been always supportive of Ham Radio. On several occasions she had helped me to build antennas and to install them. -- KD3JF
