Despite bitter temperatures and winds gusting above 30 MPH, the 10-70 Repeater Association enjoyed a fantastic January VHF Contest. We setup our station inside the Tice Senior Center which also serves as the Woodcliff Lake Emergency Operations Center. Justin, KC2GIK, Woodcliff Lake OEM's RACES Officer, and member of the 10-70 Repeater Association secured the site. On hand to share in the action was Frank, KC2NWV, the President of the 10-70, Isaac ,. NJ3C, VP of the 10-70, Mike,W2MLS, Rocky, KC2HRG, Richard, KC2PYB, Bob, N2SU. Herbert, N2OPJ, Treasurer of the 10-70, stopped in to offer support and snapped some pictures. Mike, W2MLS and Rocky, KC2HRG decided to spend the night in the EOC. While the rest of us caught a few hours sleep at home
We had three stations setup 6m,2m, and 440, plus a radio dedicated to monitor the 10-70 repeater for talk-ins. Our contacts ranged as far north as southern Maine and as far south as Virginia. Issac was really racking up the CW QSO's. In total we made 150 QSOs evenly split between 2m and 6m with a total of 5 QSOs on 70cm. Everyone who participated in the contest considered it extremely successful and most of all everyone had a lot of fun!
