This was my first VHF contest. I put a a 5-el 6M yagi and a 4-el 2M yagi up on the roof 2 days before the contest. Now every ham knows an antennas performance is inversely proportional to the weather you put it up in. With my QTH near Buffalo, NY , on the roof in January, I should have a killer signal. The contest started and I was surprised at the lack of activity. I was able to work anyone I heard on 2 meters. But the only 6 meter contacts I made were started on 2 meters. I was using a Yaesu FT-625rd with a 100W amp on six and a Yaesu FT-225rd with a 150W amp on two. Thanks to Mike KA2KQP for the 2 meter hardware. I finished with 1350 points. I'll be back next year with bigger antennas and more bands. 73's...Pete -- KF2U
