Heavy snow forced us to spend the entire weekend at the EEA barn. Activity was great despite near-blizzard conditions Sunday. We managed to send K0KHZ in the white rover van Saturday, and snagged 3 grids on all bands. Winter driving conditions prevented K0KHZ/R from attempting any more than local grids. Route 86 was closed for almost 24 hours due to heavy snow and wind. Snow drifts around the barn reached 8 feet. Equipment worked well with exception of rotators in the wind. With all the snow on the front range mountains, QSO's which are normally weak were considerably easier, and Pike's Peak is a great reflector. Also enjoyed a snowfall enhanced 10GHz QSO with near aurora-like sound. All-in-All a very enjoyable January VHF Sweepstakes. -- N9KC
