2007 ARRL International DX Contest (Phone)

03/05/2007 | VK2CZ Hi all,
Looked for contacts on 10m and 40m, with 40m having quite low noise both evenings. Nothing heard on 10m - beacons or qso's. Noise on 160m was very high first night and low the 2nd night - but heard no qso's or cq's [normal situation for 160m in these parts]. Sydney had a massive electrical storm from 12z to 2:00z, so HF was a total washout later on the 2nd night.

20m sounded a bit light on too, although I didn't have any TX antennas up for this band.. 15m sounded like 10m [on my 40m antenna].

Managed 17 states, and heard YV2LI long path on 40m quite strong, but no chance to cracking that one given his comments about QRM his end.. No Canadians in the log this year, [Dale VE7SV - get those antennas back up..]. The new US band limits really helped things from this end on Phone too.. 7.128 was a popular parking spot for some US QRPers ;-}

Lots of great signals heard out of EU and central Asia too.
Regards,
David VK2CZ - Sydney Australia -- VK2CZ
