2007 ARRL International DX Contest (Phone)
on the lower freqs. The KB5TX Entry was sponsored and funded by our
local Ham Radio Club - Kendall Amateur Radio Society (KARS - KB5TX).
We want to thank KARS for their total support. The Event was hosted
by Richard W. McDaniel - K4RMC in his back yard Ham Shack just
outside of the small Texas Hill Country city of Boerne Texas. Our
local name for this event is: The Gaines Garner DX Contest. Gaines
is a SK and orgainzed our first entry into this contest many years
ago. It was held in Big Bend National Park in West Texas. That event
was ran on generator power. This year's operators/loggers were: John
Graham KE5BVY, Jonathan Graham KD5TEF, Bill Bedwell WC0B, Don Irwin
KM5SY, Richard McDaniel K4RMC, Bob Wheaton W5XW, Mike De Leeuw W6WGE,
Jim Mastrogiovanni KK5RZ, and Alex Zogheib WO5F. The laptop computer
guru for logging was supplied by Rich Kilman N5BBI(we used paper logs
and later entered the contacts into that computer.) The chili & beans
cookoff was done by John Graham KE5BVY - UM GOOD... We had three
visitors: Hubert Tatsch KC5HRN, John Edgar W5JWE, and Triple Kocurek
KC5FSP. Equipment: 10m TS430S, 4ele mono band quad, and vert; 15m
TS430S and wire dipole; 20m TS520, vert, wire I-Vee, and wire dipole;
40m TS820S, vert, and wire I-Vee; 80m TS820S, FL-2100 amp, and wire
I-Vee; and 160m TS930S, AL-811H amp, and wire I-Vee. Only ran high
power on 80m & 160m. 100w on the other four bands. Claimed contacts:
255. Claimed score 117,810. 10m 27contacts 12 countries; 15m
59contacts 35countries; 20m 48contacts 33countries; 40m 46contacts
22 countries; 80m 63contacts 41countires; and 160m 12contacts
11countries. Our first all six(6) bands DX contact was P40A on 10m
at 04/17:43utc Mar 07. Then less than an hour later we had all six(6)
bands DX contacts with PJ2T at 18:29utc and PJ4G at 18:31utc. Both
on 10m. We were also P40A's first StateSide contact that their group
worked all six(6) bands with. We stopped for a couple of minutes and
had a short chat - plus, did a hand shake with each other over the

sponsor and organizer for the yearly International DX Phone Contest
and all the DX Stations that participated to make this "Test Your
DX Contesting Abilities" event possible. Hope to see you on the air
