03/08/2007 | K0IZ Worked 20 meter single band, high power from Colorado. Band seemed open but closed down fairly early in evening. Worked 90 countries, but only 317 contacts since I was using "search and pounce" technique. Tried to run a frequency several times with very limited results. Sometimes hard to find a frequency to use. When I did, contacts seemed very limited, so I wonder how clear the freq was on the other end.

If I'm going to do better in future contests, I'm going to have to do better on running a freq. Power was 1500 watts with V beam, but it seemed most of the successful stations holding a freq were along east coast. Using search and pounce, Sunday was very slow, I'd already worked everyone.
