06/11/2007 | N8CMZ The June VHF Contest was fun as always, but the lack of multiple 6 meter band openings like last year was disappointing. Only experienced a short opening to the states west of my Northeast OH location into SD, KS, and NE Sunday afternoon with outstanding signals both ways. Heard no one on 2 meter ssb. Ran QRP [Really wish the June VHF Contest had a QRP Category] with a Yaesu FT-817 at 5 watts to a MFJ rotatable dipole 25 feet up on ssb.....Bob -- N8CMZ
