I enjoyed the contest this year but could only spend a few hours at it. Once I heard there was a rover in our area I tried to give them as much support as I could. It is not often someone is brave enough to attempt roving up in Northern Minnesota which is sparsly populated with VHF stations. They soon find out that the metro area of MN doesn't spend alot of time with their antennas in this direction. I made 37 contacts on 3 different bands. As I have stated in the past, I wish the ARRL would modify the scoring rules to reflect the distance of each contact simular to the Stew Perry Contest on 160 meters. Would certainly change the attitude up here in the boonies that's for sure.
