This was my first VHF contest. I decided to go up to our club's repeater site at 2000' elevation in Freeland, PA (FN21). There we have a trailer setup for Field Day ops. We also have a 30' tower with a 5 ele 6M beam and an 11 ele 2M beam. I used my Icom 746PRO for 6M and 2M. The location gave really good results in all directions though I came to find the antennas were off from the direction indicator on the controller. This meant I had to peak signals instead. All in all I had a great time in the contest and made some Q's. I only wish I was able to have more bands to use and perhaps try to get some club involvment to help expand. A good opening on 6m down to TX, LA, and OK helped bring in some extra multipliers during the last few hours of the contest Sunday evening. I am looking forward to the next VHF contest and hope to be active on several more bands. -- N3NKC
