06/18/2007 | N0EDV As usual, I operated portable from EN67. This year was different since my long-time second op (AI9Z, ex-KB9IQR) couldn't make it this year. I struggled to set up the antennas on Saturday as the wind was blowing from the SSW at about 40 knots. Sunday was calm and the black flies took advantage of the good flying weather to eat me alive so I packed up and went back to the campsite at Fort Wilkins and operated from there. Conditions were poor and I had to use CW for half of my 10 contacts! Haven't used CW since about 1990 so I apologize to those that had to listen to the lousy fist! -- N0EDV
