Last year, FD was in Colorado for me. Worked with W0TX out of the Red Cross EOC. This year it on my own in Missouri. My first event as a general class also. What to do? With the thunderstorms that rolled through, and my best setup being in the truck. I decided to not chance too much. On Sunday before the rain got bad again, it was off to high ground. In MO that means Taum Sauk State Park, elevations 1772 feet. Compared to the 5000 feet back in Denver, it's kind of short but will get what I need. Between the geocaching and the rain, I managed to only get one contact at just before contest end, Indiana. I know, one station? To me it's huge, it was a first step, my first HF contact under my new classification. It's a start and next year I hope to have a few more. -- KB8PXV
