2007 ARRL Field Day

06/25/2007 | W0MA The Boeing Employees ARS (BEARS) in St. Louis had another successful Field Day. We had a good turnout for setup and teardown, and 18 different operators entered QSOs into the log. In total about 25 people participated. Band conditions were not the best but we managed to end up with 1630 QSOs:

QSOs:
80M CW - 171, 80M SSB - 198, 40M CW - 418, 40M SSB - 417,
20M CW - 135, 20M SSB - 280, 15M SSB -6, Satellite FM - 1, Satellite SSB - 4.

Total:1630

One of the smoothest setups we've had in the past few years even though we were experimenting with different antennas. New this year were a TA-33 Sr. and Delta Loops for 15M and 20M.

Satellite QSOs are now routine for us with Mark, WAOP and AL, WBLU at the controls. A little more cooperation on the FM birds would result in more QSOs for everyone. An entire pass on AO-51 was wasted without a single QSO being made.

We found out our generator was not working properly on Thursday, but our backup generator performed flawlessly. No other major problems were noted.

See everyone again next year! -- AB0RX
