06/25/2007 | W2FAM We sure had a great time working FD 2007 this year. This was our first Field Day for our club, FISTS Along The Mohawk W2FAM. The weather was just perfect. We started out the day working lots of stations. Our logging efforts went along very smoothly. About two hours into the contest our 40-meter CW rig started to cut out. The audio would just disappear. Instant panic! We lost some precious time in the contest because of that problem. It turned out to be a very unobvious defective coax barrel connector. Well, we fixed things up and got back on-the-air and into the fun again. Phil K2NPN had one rig on CW while John N2UC operated the other rig on PSK1. We look forward to field day 2008. -- K2NPN
