2007 ARRL Field Day

06/26/2007 | WX5EOC Oklahoma City EOC was the site for a good time at the robust in-development mecca of emergency communications.

Field Day 2007 was held below ground deep in the depths of a high tech wonderland of public service for which Amateur Radio is promiment. Ronnie Warren-KD5WFP, Oklahoma City Emergency Manager, was a fun and hospitable host. He explained and guided many of us through the in-process large scale event of making the OKC EOC a world class venue for serving citizens in disasters. And, we all know abundant precedence exists for this type setting in Oklahoma City in relation to well trained emergency communicators, equipment and resource sharing.

David Barnes-KE5LOW, Oklahoma County Emergency Manager, is soon to be housed in the same setting along with other licensed Amateur Radio emergency communication staff.

Thanks to the whole OKC EOC gang for the major collating and interoperability development...and proud of the major role being fulfilled by Amateur Radio. Kudos to Ed Price-KA8NBG for the stew and fellowship on Field Day Saturday at WX5EOC!

73, John Thomason-Oklahoma Section Manager -- WB5SYT
