This weekend always goes so fast! What fun! I ran solo 1B from my military Pinzgauer and trailer. I set up camp at about 8000 ft and hoisted up the vertical antenna late Friday evening, I made some contacts on 10 Meters, so I felt I should be ready to go. The Icom 706 ran fine all weekend from one battery. I brought along solar panels to trickle charge a second battery just in case. I also brought my Yaesu 817 in case the 706 failed (always double up in case Murphy stopped by). I made several contacts on 10M and even some back-scatter. Then on to the very busy 20M and 40M. I even dusted off the straight key for a cw contact. Great time, can't wait for next year!!
73's all,
