06/27/2007 | W4CN The 2007 Field Day event for the Amateur Radio Transmitting Society of Louisville went well...wet...but well. With the aid of some experienced CW guys, and a host of others rotating the SSB duties, the club more than doubled the contacts from last year. We also had some learning experiences regarding HF digital as well.

This field day showed an eagerness to operate...and with that came plenty of learning experiences. Many participated in the building of simple wire antennas...learning that it was not that complicated and did not have to be that pretty to get the job done.

The forecasters failed us again...RAIN...and lots of it fell, only stopping the on-air activities once or twice.

Great event...
