06/28/2007 | WB0SND This was our 2nd Field Day outing in the St. Louis, MO suburb or Clayton and we were hoping for an improvement over our 2006 attempt. This year, we erected almost 40 ft. of Rohn 25G and crowned it with a TA-33. The tower and all accessories were generously lent to us by Sam K9SD. We also raised the height of our all-band doublet antenna to 30 feet which we tuned with an old Johnson Matchbox (worked great). We had a wonderful turnout with participants that included Bill WTR, Mike Ragouzis NBI, Mike Marx WBND, Ken Pfitzer WRO, Fred Simowitz KS, Paul Kulick KCCC, and Joe Winkelmann ABD.

It rained twice on Saturday (forcing us to tear down our stations each storm) and again twice on Sunday (repeated the tear down routine again). We'll have to improve our tents for 2008!
