2007 ARRL Field Day

06/29/2007 | N6A FD2007 for Livermore Amateur Radio Klub (LARK) was organized by Activities Chair Jon Schwartz K6EWN and sited on a hilltop location off Patterson Pass Road east of Livermore, where Jon has an operating location for his Wi-Fi Internet company (GPS 3740'56.58"N 12137'25.46" W). Visitors to the site included East Bay Section Manager Ti-Michelle Connelly NJ6T and Pacific Division Director Bob Vallio W6RGG. An uninvited visitor was a large rattlesnake that was fortunately terminated with extreme prejudice using a shovel. The crew did well, as there were several band openings that allowed a lot of contacts. I am awaiting a final report from K6EWN so I can report LARK's score, but preliminary results I heard was over 100,000 points or something along those lines. I am looking forward to FD2008 because not only will I be publicizing it, I will be up there making contacts too. We got an article I wrote about FD2007 in the local paper, The Independent. See you on the airwaves next time! 73 Chuck Harding PIO East Bay Section -- K6CKT
