01/08/2008 | W4YD SKN '08 was great. I started with Les, SP3DOI, in Poland, on 80 meters; and followed with Tom, W9KTB; John, N5DY; Don, W2LID; and Bryan, KE4COH on 40 meters. Conditions were only fair, and I had trouble initially re-adjusting my key, but I managed to get it right eventually. My transmitter was a Swan Astro 150 that I have had for twenty-eight years; I used a Windham antenna. My children were there to see what was happening, and that added to the enjoyment of the event.
