2008 ARRL June VHF Contest

06/18/2008 | W8TCZ I wasn't able to operate the full duration of the contest due to thunderstorms toward the end of the contest. A few more QSO's on 2M would have been beneficial to the score!

We had AU on 2M on Saturday evening and I was able to work EN34, EN35 and EN44. I understand this was a G1 event according to WWV. I didn't hear any east coast stations via AU. I was hoping there would have been a few more stations on AU, but the great conditions on 6M kept most there and not on 2M. It was difficult to get many QSO's on 432 and 2M.

From my QTH, I did manage to work a few VE2's and a VE9 on 6M. Another ham about 6 miles from me worked a VE1 but I didn't hear much as a peep from the VE1. I did hear an XE2, NP4 and a VP9 but didn't work any of them. . .just too much competition for my modest 6M station. -- W8TCZ
