2008 ARRL June VHF Contest
Saturday conditions where not stelar, but not without a surprise or two.
Gave me a chance to fine tune some things and have more than "QSL, K1PU FN31" QSO with some locals.
Local weather (thunder storms) shut me and a lot of Southern New Englanders down for a couple of hours until it "looked" safe to operate once more.
Sunday I had a late start (5PM local) after the Sunday obligations and combined Fathers Day - May thru July birthday party for members the extended family (I had to show up on both counts!) at my sisters.
Upon turning on the radios, 6 was hopping to the south and central states so I dove in.
6 faded in the 8 PM hour but the higher bands saw some good activity until contest end.
Photo's show my "Field Day" style antenna installation (any better test than two weeks before?), complete with rain drops on the elements.
Other photos' show the setup in the raw and my Picnic Table mast mounting technique. -- K1PU
