06/21/2008 | KC2TA Planned on running this contest for months -- since the January contest. Unfortunately, like January, my opeating was somewhat diminished because of having to referee soccer games on Saturday. Additionally, the majority of Sunday was accounted for by an engagement party for my eldest son and his fiance. So, let's put it in perspective

Saturday I didn't get a chance to operate until after 2000Z, and didn't get much time until after 2300Z helping the XYL with preparation of food. Was hoping to hear an opening on six meters.

Naturally, the opening arrived on Sunday. Had a few hours in the morning to operate, but lost out completely from 1515Z until after 0030Z Monday morning. What number of grids slipped away during that period of time I'll never know, but I'm certain there were quite a few.

Did I enjoy it? You bet your...let's just say that even when I don't do very well (not up to January stats) I always have fun working new grids, meeting up with old friends and making new ones.

I'll probably be in new digs by September, so I may just be on one band, but you can bet I'll be there. -- KC2TA
