Well, *that* went quite well, overall. I didn't have an antenna up for 70cm this time, but managed one contact on the 2m beam. I had to take a break Saturday night because an enormous thunderstorm parked itself seemingly right over the house; we were counting better than 2 strikes a minute all around. I took the opportunity provided by the enforced rest break to throw together a 15el Kent Britain-esque Cheap Yagi for 70cm. Unfortunately my big soldering gun died and I couldn't connectorize a coax for it. Alas.
That aside, I had an absolute blast, though my hand cramped up a time or two trying to log the pileups. By the time all was said and done I had well over a hundred QSOs logged, in more than 50 grids all over the northeast and upper midwest, and even one chap across the Gulf in Mexico. Can't wait for September! -- WA4UF
