2008 ARRL Field Day

06/29/2008 | K6BSR This was the first year in some time I did field day from home! Usually I get out with local club and play all weekend. This year I had just moved to a new QTH in a new state. To really make things interesting I also have a new rig (FT-450)and new operating position. All worked well with the rig and stealth dipoles on roof(I am in an apartment),but ergonomics sucked at operating position. I can't complain though, because I did get good results for the first ten or so hours I operated. Six meters for the first hour and then to ten for a few more. Twenty was hopping all day and forty was a madhouse after the sun went down!

This was a real step down from the tribander and amplifier at the old QTH, but a real fun time just the same. Thanks to all the big gun's who dug out my little signal and of course thanks to all the club stations and others who actually went out in the field to work guys like me..... -- K6BSR
