06/30/2008 | KC2NVL For the third year in a row, family commitments kept me from the LARC (W2SO) Field Day activities, but that didn't stop me! 2 Hours Sunday afternoon, 2 6M hamsticks, 2 pieces of coax, 10FT of PVC, some cable ties, pre-charged battery-in-a-box, and a clean kitchen table yielded 13 contacts. Yes only 1 band, only 1 radio, and paper logging, but KISS, right?? Quick 1E station! 6M definitely opened in the last 15 min, worked into MN and WI from Buffalo, NY! A great time (although SHORT) for my first FD in 3 years. -- KC2NVL
