07/01/2008 | K5PAL The Palestine/Anderson County ARC participated in FD 08 in the piney woods of east Texas. We set up at a cabin of one of our club members and worked 2A North Texas on 20 and 40 meters. We had a fun time. Good friends, good weather, and good food made it great day. We didn't make too many contacts using G5RV antennas, and we learned a few things that we will change for next year. But all in all we simply enjoyed the fellowship and playing with the radios to the best of our abilities. This year is now logged in the history books and we eagerly await Field Day 2009. -- KB5YUE
