K
KDSU and WO operated K from Mount Sunflower, Kansas, the highest point in the state. At 4.039 feet, it is a barren field less than a half mile from the Kansas-Colorado state line. Started with 2 concurrently operated HF transmitters, but a PA failure from an RF feedback loop left us with only SSB into one of the full size home-brew windom antennas. Contacts were limited, but by Sunday morning the RF pickup had been mostly eliminated ! 20 meters was excellent Saturday evening. Nothing was heard on 6 meters from the Mountain. -- W0SO
