Ashtabula County Amateur Radio Club set at the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds. We put the biggest antennas and tilt over tower up on Friday night. On Saturday, we survived an 82-mph thunderstorm downburst with some radio damage but no antenna damage. It was great to see the young people jump in and operate. Seven of nine youngsters made at least one contact. Computer to radio problems reduced our digital contacts by quite a bit. However, we just about triple last year's dismal contacts.
20m held up virtually the entire opertating period. Two meters worked along the Lake Erie shore. Even 10m and 15m openned from NE Ohio. -- N8NYI
