07/18/2008 | K6SRA Our club normally operates on top of a mountain in the Gilroy, CA area. Friday morning we had to do an emergency relocation as the ranger at the park advised the smoke from the many fires in our area had made our site unhealthy for an extended stay. We set up and operated for just the day in a local park instead. We obviously didn't set any records for high scores but had a great time, met a lot of friendly curious hikers, and learned some good lessons on how flexible we could be on short notice. - Larry -- W6RBK
