08/13/2008 | K4KNS K4KNS - the Columbia County Amateur Radion Club of Evans, Georgia held its annual ARRL Field Day event at the Pointes West Recreational Area on Lake Thurmond this year. We held a VE session on the morning of June 28th (three new Technicians - all YLs and XYLs!!!) - and two upgrades to Extra Class. We got on the air with a two station setup (2A GA). The main event was a picnic feast for everyone around 5 PM in the evening. We didn't win the event, but we sure were winners in making new friends, hamming it up, and just having fun.
