2008 IARU HF World Championships
. . .and they reigned on 20 meters. Even thou the propagation where I live was not the best, worked like 25 stations on the first 3 hours; then what I heard was "SSSHHHHH!!!!!....." all QRN. In the meantime helped a neighbor with a refrigerator, filled some QSLs and did some garden work. Then the bands came to life after 2000 UTC; that's when 20 meters boomed on and the HQ's were all around.
Even at 2200 went to work on 15 meters some of the other HQ's which was amazing because at that time the band begins to close. Spent almost all the time on 20 meters; did more than 100 contacts there.
Also chat for a moment with friends NP3CW, WP4BL and KP4JRS; also on the bands were NP4EG, WP4SK and WP4U, so there were some putting KP4 land on the map.
Who am I to blame for the low score? As said propagation was not the best for me this time, but did work KH7B, ZL6A, ZD8Z, obviously the HQ's and I think I made like 70 multipliers or so; what I did miss were US stations. Let's see what's in for 2009.
Cheers, Angel Luis Santana -- WP3GW
