07/14/2008 | KC2TA I hadn't worked IARU for a few years (2000), and decided to get back in the 'fray' for this one. Really had to work for the 400+ Q's in the log -- normally strong, easily worked stations in Europe were tough to pick up and there are few of the UA/UK contingent in my entry, not to mention the lack of any KH6 and others in the Pacific.

I was surprised that my 40 meter sloping vee - too close to the house and not very high -- gave me unexpected results on the band when I wasn't expecting much. Go figure. -- KC2TA
