2008 ARRL 10 GHz and Up Contest
I operated from home both weekends. I live in a valley, The Antelope Valley, so I have mountains to go over in every direction. Some over 8000 feet high. But I did better than I thought I would. Of course much credit goes to the rovers that were out. I made 98 contacts with 34 different stations. My best DX was three contacts into Arizona, about 430Km . My average distance for each contact was 151 Km, over the mountains. I used to go out and sit on a mountain top in the sun and wind, so operating from my home was really great. I run 10 watts to a four foot dish at 60 feet. My thanks again to all the people that did go out on mountain tops so that I would not have to.
