12/03/2008 | W9SZ I didn't have a lot of time to participate during the first weekend but I managed a few hours on Saturday morning from a hilltop in EN50rl. I worked my best DX in the contest from there - with W0ZQ in EN42cq.

I drove up to Two Rivers, Wisconsin on the Friday before the September weekend so I could come down the lake on the Wisconsin side and work people on the Michigan side (and a few on the Wisconsin side). I didn't make the same progress as I did a couple years ago but there were more people to work.

The band started out OK in the morning from Rawley Point (Point Beach State Park) WI and seemed OK from Sheboygan Point later on. I didn't have time to make stops in between there and Kenosha as I did in 2006. When I got to Kenosha, conditions were marginal to dismal. I managed a few QSO's.
